Happy March! It’s hard to believe Euchre is over and we are in full swing for Shamrocks. Euchre was a massive success. Thank you to Jill McGlynn and Jeanette Yacucci for your leadership and to to volunteers that filled over 200 jobs for Euchre, we couldn’t do it without you!

Shout out! A special club shout out to Megan Chrapliwy. Our sign up genius fairy tells us that Megan has donated over 47 hours of her time to JWC this year. That is 22 hours MORE than our club expectations. Megan you are a ROCKSTAR! Put your feet up, girl! Well, if you want to, well still take your service any day! 🙂 (If anyone needs a reminder of our club expectations please see the description below.)

JWC’s Mission and Volunteering Expectations: The beginning of the club year is a good time to revisit club expectations. The mission of JWC is to provide an opportunity for women to make a difference in the community through service and fundraising and to build bonds with one and other.

To further this purpose, each member is expected to attend meetings and participate in club activities with the following guidelines. Each member is expected to track her hours individually to ensure she is meeting these goals.

General Members

  • Attend at least 5 General Meetings
  • Accrue 25 volunteering hours consisting of 7 hours in your assigned fundraiser, 7 hours in your assigned service activity, 11 hours in any JWC sponsored fundraiser or service activity.

New Members

  • Attend at least 5 General Meetings
  • Attend at least 5 New Member Meetings
  • Accrue 20 hours of volunteering through any combination of the following activities: planning May Buffet, committing to a new member service project, sampling other JWC sponsored service and fundraising activities.

Board Members & Committee Chairs

  • Attend 5 General Meetings
  • Attend 5 Board or Committee Meetings
  • Commit to 20 hours of planning, organizing, and volunteering for their assigned role.

Sustaining Members (only available to members who have completed 5 years of service in good standing):

  • Commit to 10 hours of volunteering for a JWC sponsored fundraiser or service.

02.18.20 – JWC Update

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow for the JWC General Meeting. Doors open at 6:45 for the New Member Meeting and 7:00 for the General Meeeting. After our short agenda, we will be helping to put together Shamrock Goody Bags as well as completing a group service activity for Carocole.

It’s post Light Up and we hope you are all finding time to relax before Hanukkah and Christmas! To our fearless Light Up leaders, Kate Wenning & Becky Gilbert, and the entire Light Up Wyoming committee, we are in awe of your fantastic work! More on our massive success below. 🙂


Light Up Wyoming By The Numbers:

Here are some fun facts about Light Up 2019 for your Wyoming holiday happy hours.

Number of kits sold – 670! That’s 13,400 individual luminaries! Put end-to-end, that’s would span 7.6 miles or go back-and-forth across Wyoming almost 3 times.

Number of Sign-Up Genius hours volunteered – 218! That’s about 2 hours per JWC Member. Thank you! And, this doesn’t include the countless hours that the committee spent planning the event.
